Free Multicultural Festival at St. Bernardine Church

(San Bernardino,CA) St. Bernardine Church, at the corner of Fifth and F streets in San Bernardino, is holding a free multicultural Festival Saturday, Sept. 28 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

“We have been holding this festival for more than 50 years,” said Loraine O’Campo, one of the organizers. “In this time, the neighborhood of downtown San Bernardino has become one of great diversity, so our annual festival now embraces the different cultures St. Bernadine’s Church serves.”

The festival will feature live entertainment, activities for children, and food.

The music includes tap and show routines by Sassy Girls, traditional Mexican and South American dance routines by St Mary’s Ballet Folklorico of Redlands, Mexican and Norteno music by Evoluncion Tapatia, and music from the big band era , oldies but goodies as well as jazz and Latin jazz by IE Sound.

DJ Westwood will play a variety of music, and will be set up for karaoke.

For children, there will be crafts and games.

Food includes traditional hamburgers, hot dogs, barbecue chicken, tacos, tamales, mole, pozole, and Filipino and Italian foods, as well a Sweet Shoppe and beer garden.

There will be an opportunity drawing withe first prize being $1,000, 2nd $500 and 3rd $300. Other prizes will also be raffled.

The proceeds of the drawing will help St. Bernadine’s provide assistance to needy San Bernardino residents.
