Hemet, CA – January 11, 2020, join the Hemet Public Library, 300 East Latham Ave, Hemet CA as we celebrate our third annual Get Your Comics-On Vol. 3.
Celebrate your love of comics, superheroes and anime at the Hemet Public Library’s 3rd annual Get Your Comics-On convention. There are many activities including our popular kid’s superhero training camp, Anime Your Way drawing class @ 1pm, and superhero crafts. Take a selfie with the Southland Ghostbusters, the 501st Legion, and R2D2. Stroll through our vendors and artists alley, and enjoy the costume contests and all the drawings for cool raffle prizes. Some participants are Gopherit Comics and SoCal Games and Comics
Our Guest of Honor is Scott Shaw!. Scott is a legendary cartoonist and comics historian. He has won four Emmy’s, a Humanitas award and several comic related awards. He’s worked for Hanna-Barbera, Marvel Comics, DC Comics and Archie Comics, just to name a few. He’s also know for creating Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew as well as being the first cartoonist to draw Sonic the Hedgehog in a comic book. Mike Senna and R2D2 will also be attending for the first time. Mike is a roboticist who built an exact working replica of R2D2. Mike will discuss the making of R2D2 and R2D2 will take pictures with the public. We’re very lucky to have them attend the show.
Doors open from 10 am until 4 pm. Entry fee is free with your Hemet Public Library card or $3.00 at the door, all children 5 and under are free!
The first 200 guests will receive a free goodie bag.
