Update – Ghost Walk Riverside 2016 – 25th Anniversary Celebration

Riverside, CA – 10/25/2016 – New tricks and treats are in store for all at Ghost Walk Riverside’s 25th Anniversary Celebration. All new tours will haunt downtown Riverside this Friday and Saturday night starting at 6p.m. – Rain or Shine!

Come learn what Nightmares lurk on Main Street, see the Things that Go Bump in the Night, come face to face with what you Fear most, Run for Your Lives, and experience Riverside’s Reckoning. Tours range from G-rated to PG-13 and feature the most talented and ghostly Riverside has to offer from Poly, King, Ramona, Arlington, Notre Dame, and Encore High Schools. Each tour will start with the Thriller on Main Street presented by Danzanna Productions and continue on to the deepest and darkest areas of the city. More tour details

As in prior years, guests can enjoy live entertainment including music, dance, and treats. Come early and stay late to enjoy the carnival attractions, fun food and ambiance unique to Ghost Walk Riverside. At 8:00 p.m. each evening, children ages 10 and under can compete in the Costume Contest on the Main Street Mall, no entry fee required. Don’t miss your chance to win special anniversary edition memorabilia and support California Riverside Ballet.

Tips:

  • Arrive early, downtown gets busy and parking will be something to plan for. Parking, however is free!
  • Tours are rated on fear factor. Know your limits and choose wisely.
  • Be ready to walk. Some tours span several city blocks. A plus, 4 of the 5 tours are handicapped accessible.
  • You can watch the Thriller dance as often as you like. The dancers repeat performances every 20 minutes.
  • Gather a group of 5 or more and save! No promo code needed.
  • Your participation supports the California Riverside Ballet and it’s programs including the Academy Program which offers affordable ballet training to the underserved.

Riverside, CACalifornia Riverside Ballet is proud to present and celebrate Ghost Walk Riverside in it’s 25th year, running dates October 28-29, 2016.

As one of Riverside’s premier events, Ghost Walk Riverside has a rich history and legacy for delighting audiences of all ages. Ghost Walk Riverside has earned the esteemed reputation for attracting artists from various areas, making a truly exceptional collaboration. Writers, storytellers, actors, musicians, and vocalists join forces in a display of talent and walking adventure through downtown Riverside known as Ghost Walk. This year’s performances showcase annual favorites including Poly High School, Martin Luther King High School, and John W. North High School. New to Ghost Walk Riverside is Encore High School for the Arts. Encore expanded to Riverside in 2015 with the mission to provide a “creative, challenging, and nurturing environment that offers secondary students with the innovative preparation for a university education and pursuit of the arts”. We are pleased to team with Encore for this year’s commemorative celebration, as it opens its facilities and provides talents to host the “Fear Tour”.

This year’s line-up will include both family-friendly tours as well as tours for the more adventurous and daring participants. Tours will depart from the Main Street Mall October 28-29, 2016 from 6pm-10pm.

The complete set of tours include: “Things That Go Bump in the Night” (G-rated tour), “Fear Tour” (PG), “Run For Your Lives Tour”, “Nightmare on Main St. Tour”, and “Riverside’s Reckoning Tour” (PG-13 tours).

In celebration of this milestone year, California Riverside Ballet is offering two introductory opportunities. The first, children 14 years of age and younger are eligible to participate in the Ghost Walk Riverside Kids’ Art Contest. Children can submit an original work of art or download a template from California Riverside Ballet’s website. Up to five lucky participants will each receive four tickets to Ghost Walk Riverside and have their art displayed at the event.

The second opportunity is Night Gallery Black & White Ball scheduled for mid-October. The special event will include an art display, art auction, live music and entertainment. California Riverside Ballet is currently accepting art submissions. All mediums of art are encouraged, including, but not limited to paintings, sculpture, textile designs, jewelry, glass, metalwork, photography, video, mixed media and installation art. Artists’ submissions will be juried by a panel of professional experts.

RB is a non-profit (501(c)(3) corporation and is supported in part by the City & County of Riverside, Riverside Arts Council, as well as private individuals and corporations. We invite you to join us in supporting the Inland Empire’s finest ballet company so that CRB can continue presenting outstanding programs, and give our community’s young dancers the chance to prove their worth along side celebrated artists from the finest ballet companies in the world.
