Community Connect will be hosting its 4th Annual Christmas Party for Veterans living at the US Vets facility at March Air Reserve Base on Wednesday, December 18th. The event is totally hosted by donations and volunteers. Donations are needed for gift bags. Items needed include games, playing cards, books, candy, cookies, scarves, gloves, wallets, new under clothing, toiletries, or anything suitable for gifts.
US Vets serves 130 homeless or at risk Veterans each day providing them with transitional housing and support services. Approximately 40-50 of them will be in attendance at the Christmas party but gift bags are stuffed for each of them at the facility. The party includes Christmas desserts and drinks, Santa who reads the Military Night Before Christmas, live musical entertainment, gifts, photos with Santa, a letter/Christmas card writing table, and many other activities.
