Bank of America and Habitat for Humanity Riverside Team Up to Preserve a Home for a Family in Need during their Third Global Build
RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Often due to age, disability, income, or family circumstances, homeowners struggle to maintain their homes. Recognizing this issue, especially among seniors, Habitat for Humanity Riverside has partnered with Bank of America to address minor exterior repairs and painting for a qualified homeowner in need. On September 30th, approximately 20 Bank of America employee volunteers will join the Habitat for Humanity Riverside team to revitalize a home in Riverside.

This event comes as part of the third Habitat Global Build (#GlobalBuild), hosted in celebration of the bank’s 30 year commitment to Habitat for Humanity. Throughout the week, thousands of Bank of America employee volunteers and representatives from Habitat for Humanity are coming together to revitalize communities and help families achieve the dream of homeownership. Revitalization projects will take place in 85 communities across eight countries, including the U.S.

The Global Build is just one way that Bank of America is helping advance a thriving Inland Empire community as part of its approach to responsible growth. Bank of America recently presented Habitat for Humanity Riverside with a $50,000 grant. Funds will support Habitat Riverside’s upcoming CalVet REN project, providing homeownership opportunities to 26 qualified veterans and their families. “In partnership with Bank of America, we will be able to help these families on their journey to homeownership. Transitioning from less than desirable conditions into safe, decent, affordable homes.” explained Michalak. This was one part of Bank of America’s contribution of $207,500 to 20 nonprofits who work to increase access to affordable housing and support neighborhood revitalization in the Inland Empire.
