Healthy Fontana Upcoming Classes

Fontana, California – The Mayor and City Council invite the public to register for the upcoming cooking classes and the Health & Fitness Boot Camp offered by the Healthy Fontana program.

Join Healthy Fontana’s Chef for the “Fast, Fresh and Fabulous” cooking class for innovative ways to prepare healthier meals and snacks using fresh, healthy foods and learn about the importance of eating 5 to 9 fruits and vegetables per day.  The class is FREE and will be held on May 7 & 21 at the Shady Trails Parkhouse, 15800 South Park Lane, from 10:00 am -1:00 pm.  Pre-registration is required.  Sign up early this class fills up fast!  To register, please call the Healthy Fontana Hotline at (909) 350-6542.

Children can join Healthy Fontana’s Chef for the “Healthy Jr. Chef” cooking class for an interactive and fun cooking class teaching children how to cook and prepare healthy dishes and snacks. Class themes include nutrition, safe food handling, sanitation and proper utensil use. This class is specifically for children ages 8-14.  The class is FREE and will be held on May 21 at Shady Trails Parkhouse, 15800 South Park Lane, from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm.  Pre-registration and parent attendance is required.  To register, please call the Healthy Fontana Hotline at (909) 350-6542.

Bring your grandchildren to the Watch and Learn Grandparents and Children’s Cooking class.  Watch you grandchildren flourish as they’re taught healthy recipes in a fun and interactive cooking class with hands-on experience.  Be part of their learning adventure!  The class is FREE and will be held on Monday, May 23, at the Fontana Community Senior Center, 16710 Ceres Avenue, from 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm.  Pre-registration and grandparent/parent attendance is required.  To register, please call Healthy Fontana Hotline at (909) 350-6242.

Join the Health & Fitness Boot Camp and exercise in a fun supportive atmosphere.  Healthy Fontana facilitates a one-hour boot camp that offers an alternative to traditional exercise with activities including drills and team relays specifically designed to burn calories.  Classes are six weeks long on Saturdays from 6:30 am – 7:30 am at the Jessie Turner Health and Fitness Center. The center is located at 15556 Summit Avenue in Fontana. The next session begins on May 21 and registration is only $30 for six weeks. Pre-registration is required.  Participants are asked to bring two 5 pound dumbbells, an exercise mat or towel and plenty of water.  This is a fun way to start off your weekend and get back the body you deserve.
