San Bernardino, CA, – Home Depot joined forces with Arrowhead United Way to remove unwanted graffiti in the Highland area. With the assistance of the San Bernardino Taking Action Against Graffiti (SB TAAG) task force Arrowhead United Way was able to identify a location on Baseline Road described as a “significant problem area” for the city as the area contained over 10,000 square feet of graffiti.
The South San Bernardino Home Depot provided a group of 5 skilled associates to paint over approximately 5,000 square feet of graffiti tagged walls that are visible to the community and the surrounding housing units. Home Depot also donated the materials and Behr Paint donated the paint towards the project.
Surrounding neighbors stopped to thanked Arrowhead United Way and Home Depot for their efforts to remove their “eye sore,” even if it is for a brief period of time.
AUW is a volunteer driven organization that actively supports health and human services by focusing on youth services, family services, and basic needs. These services address the underlying causes of the community’s issues and create lasting change. The organization was established over 118 years ago and is led by prominent respected community leaders; it is one of the oldest United Ways in the country.
