Home Runs for Hope – Charity Event on August 27th

Making Hope Foundation

By Irene Molinar

San Bernardino, CA – The Making Hope Happen Foundation is hosting a charity event night on August 27th, 2018. Teaming up with Thinkwise Credit Union and the Inland Empire 66ers, the organization hopes to unite the community of San Bernardino for a fun night of baseball and philanthropy while the Inland Empire 66ers take on the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes at the San Manuel Stadium.

Embracing the power of hope as a primary driver of personal motivation and community change, the Making Hope Happen Foundation works to serve the San Bernardino City Unified School District. With initiatives like the Infant-Toddler Success Program, innovation in education grants, and their mentor-supported scholarships, the organization believes success can be cultivated from cradle to career.

“We are very excited about the opportunity to partner with Thinkwise Credit Union and the Inland Empire 66er’s,” says Ruby Foster, Chief Development Officer of the Making Hope Happen Foundation. “We all take great pride in our community and events like this show how we work together to be champions for our students in the San Bernardino City Unified School District.”

Thinkwise Credit Union’s partnership with the IE 66ers includes an annual charity event to support an organization of the credit union’s choice. This year, that organization is the Making Hope Happen Foundation.

Tickets, originally priced at $12, will sell for $5 with all proceeds benefiting the Making Hope Happen Foundation. The game begins at 7:05 p.m. at the San Manuel Stadium.

“I strongly feel that this type of local, community interaction and education is unmatched,” says Alex Groh, Assistant General Manager of the IE 66ers. “The beauty of minor league baseball is the community and fan base that surround each team. Without the loyal support of its community, no minor league baseball organization would exist. I’m fortunate that our stadium has the ability to host charity evenings because it’s a great way to showcase a wonderful organization like the Making Hope Happen Foundation.”

Since 2015, the foundation has engaged in and built partnerships within the district to achieve a thriving and innovative community where students continue to strive to meet their greatest hopes and ambition.

Making Hope Happen Foundation

The Making Hope Happen Foundation supports the educational mission of the San Bernardino City Unified School District which has embraced the power of hope as a primary driver of personal motivation and community change.  Hope allows people to envision a better future, design a path toward that future, and to take purposeful steps toward it.  As a result of a deep commitment to this quest, the San Bernardino Community and School Alliance (CASA) which previously supported the District’s work was reorganized and renamed the Making Hope Happen Foundation.
