Desert Recreation District Summer Activities Have Something for Everyone

Indio, CA – Don’t just watch the Olympics, celebrate them by participating in any number of Olympic-style activities. The Olympics have been a great reminder that sports serve as recreation, fitness, competition, a growth experience and, most importantly, can be fun. Day after day, event after event, the world’s Olympians provide leadership and serve as great examples of how attitude, hard work and team spirit can shape lives.

That same Olympic-style fun is alive and well, here, in the Coachella Valley. Residents can participate in a wide variety of programs and activities hosted by your Desert Recreation District. There is still time to sign on for swimming, archery, volleyball, table tennis, martial arts, gymnastics and much more. For those interested in field trips, the District still has openings for adventures to places such as Knott’s Soak City and Jungle Island Paintball Park.

The Olympics are showing us, once again, that there is something for everyone, regardless of your age, location or athletic ability. Wrap up the hot summer and get ready for fall by finding a recreational activity that you enjoy. For more information about Desert Recreation District’s Summer Programs or to register for an activity online, check out www.MyRecreationDistrict.com or call 760-347-3484.

Fall programs start in September. Check out the website at www.MyRecreationDistrict.com for details on your community’s upcoming activities.
