LOCAL ENTREPRENEUR IS HONORED WITH SBA REGIONAL AWARD, “EXPORTER OF THE YEAR”
INDIO, Calif. – Natividad Jaime, owner of Robin Hood Archery, an Indio business, received the SBA District IX Exporter of the Year, after being nominated by Coachella Valley Women’s Business Center. The award is one of twelve that were presented yesterday at the 49th Annual Small Business Week Awards in Anaheim, CA.
Mr. Jaime and his wife Carmen, both of whom are former championship archers, founded the company in their garage in 1992, partly as a means to finance their love of the sport of archery, but also to promote the sport – first locally, then regionally, nationally, and finally, world-wide.
The Jaime children and other family members were similarly instilled with a love of archery, and talent as well, so that the walls of Robin Hood Archery display more than 200 medals as testament to the combined skill of the family. Family members still compete in tournaments; in fact the upcoming California State Archery Championships on Sunday, September 30, 2012 will be hosted by Robin Hood Archery.
Robin Hood Archery exports archery equipment and training to countries such as Mexico and India, and some Latin and South American countries. Because they compete in the sport, teach, train, and sell the equipment, Robin Hood Archery’s emissaries have become as much goodwill ambassadors as businessmen or competitors – and this is very much a part of the family’s philosophy.
In honoring Natividad Jaime of Robin Hood Archery, whose belief in integrity, passion, excellence in customer service, social responsibility, pioneering expansion, and collaboration as the cornerstones on which the business has been built, the SBA has recognized a small businessman who worked hard to achieve success.
