InlandEmpire.US – There is no doubt technology is shaping the future of transportation; thus the decision to focus the 5th Annual Leonard Transportation Center Forum on exactly how this is occurring and what that means for our mobility.
So what does the future of transportation look like? More specifically, the future of the car? The Future Car Group is a group of vehicle designers, urban designers and planners collaborating on a joint understanding of Southern California’s infrastructure and mobility future to develop The Car in 2035. The book will be a highly visual and engaging exploration of the challenges created by the uneven pace of evolution of the design and technology of vehicles versus their land use, social, regulatory and infrastructural context.
Representing the Future Car Group will be:
Geoff Wardle is Director of Advanced Mobility Research at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. Educated first as a vehicle engineer and then as an automotive designer at the Royal College of Art in London, Geoff has had extensive experience as a professional vehicle designer across four continents and remains a passionate car enthusiast.
Steve Mazor is the Chief Automotive Engineer at the Automobile Club of Southern California. He has served as Manager of the Club’s Automotive Research Center (ARC) in Diamond Bar, California from 1985 to present. The ARC is a state-of-the-art automotive emissions/fuel economy/performance laboratory.
Bill Trimble has worked since 1990 in various positions with the City of Pasadena Planning Department, now serving as a Senior Planner. His primary responsibilities continue to involve housing issues, planning for areas where transit-supportive development has been directed in Pasadena, and coordination with regional planning agencies.
