Inland Empire Manufacturers Seek Training for Energy Cost Reduction

Inland area manufacturers receive free training for energy cost reduction
Manufacturers in the Inland Empire learn about opportunities to save on energy costs.

Colton, CA September 17, 2014– Some local manufacturers may begin to save on energy costs, thanks to yesterday’s free training seminar on plant efficiency, presented by the Manufacturer’s Council of the Inland Empire (MCIE) and Southern California Edison (SCE). The seminar, Identifying Energy and Cost Savings Opportunities in Your Plant, was held at Brithinee Electric in Colton, who also invited class attendees for a tour of their motor rewinding and controls manufacturing facility after the three hour class.

The no cost training class carried three contact hours offered by the CA Department of Health Services, free lunch provided by SCE, and networking opportunities between local manufacturers and the MCIE.

Instructors Bill O’Neil and Don Orton of SCE led the discussion for Inland area manufacturers and professionals from related industries interested in saving on energy costs. Instruction covered the basics of measuring energy usage, California’s energy plan and compressor control methods that are critical to their efficiency.

The MCIE supports and provides education on manufacturing topics to manufacturers, employees, students and the community through partnerships with local colleges. Anyone interested in learning more about the MCIE, including how to register for other upcoming events, is encouraged to visit their website at http://mfgcouncilie.com
