Sandy Pearson, a socially conscious athlete who created the Because I Can Band as a fundraiser for a half marathon in 2010, said “I’m sickened by the thought of what our world has come to with the Boston Marathon bombing, and knew BIC Bands had to lend their support. We regularly channel proceeds of our non-‐slip headbands to a different charity each month, and we decided to create a special product for Boston. Luckily, our sewers and printer agreed with us and are donating time and material as well. In fact, 100% of the purchase price is going to the One Fund.”

The One Fund was created by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Menino whose purpose is to raise money to help those families most affected by the tragic events that unfolded during the 2013 Boston Marathon.
