NAWBO-IE’s Charitable Arm Offers Scholarships to Female Business Students
UPLAND, Calif. — The Inland Empire Women’s Education Foundation (IEWEF), a 501(C)(3) charitable organization of the National Association of Women Business Owners, Inland Empire (NAWBO-IE) is pleased to announce it is now accepting applications for the 2016 Entrepreneurial Spirit Scholarship Program.
The program provides a unique opportunity in which female students have a chance to compete for one-time scholarship awards. The IEWEF gives scholarships to one or more eligible undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in a business or entrepreneurial college degree program. While scholarship amounts vary, the minimum award is $500.
In 2015, IEWEF presented three college students and one high school student with $7,500 in scholarship monies. The scholarships are funded by generous corporate entities and sponsors such as San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, Union Bank, as well as local business owners and NAWBO-IE members.
“The young women who apply for our scholarships are the future of the local Inland Empire business community and we are honored to support their business dreams and goals,” said Robin Allen, President of IEWEF.
Scholarships will be presented at the Scholarship Awards Dinner to be held April 21, 2016. As scholarship winners receive their awards, the hope is that they will be further inspired to continue in their pursuit of education and business excellence.
