Jacob Poore Elected New VP of American Advertising Federation-Inland Empire

San Bernardino, CA, — Cal State San Bernardino’s ACM Marketing Manager, Jacob Poore, was elected Vice President of the American Advertising Federation- Inland Empire chapter. In August 2011 he was elected to this prestigious position, many say because of his enthusiasm and vast knowledge of the advertising and marketing industry.

Jacob Poore started at California State University, San Bernardino as a student. Before graduating in 2008 he held numerous positions at Coyote radio such as Promotions Manager, Production Manager and Marketing Director. Michael Ross, Interim Assistant Vice President of Academic Computing and Media at CSUSB, said “his abilities allowed him to apply new and established marketing techniques that inevitably spawned a new marketing program”.

Poore joined the American Advertising Federation in August of 2010. Past President, Dr. Victoria Seitz, said she encouraged Jacob to nominate himself for the Vice President position because “he was enthusiastic and involved in the association and wanted to do more”. Jon Burgess, current President of the AAF-IE, said this about the AAF and Poore, “The AAF is focused on educating and bringing together the Advertising world. It became very apparent that his skills and relationships could only help build our organization membership and brand”. Just one year after joining the AAF-IE chapter Poore was elected to the Vice President board position.

At Cal State San Bernardino, Poore is the marketing manager for the Academic Computing and Media department and manages the Coyote Advertising program on campus. He directs over ten students per quarter in the offices of Coyote Advertising, half of which are student interns. The students sell ad space to surrounding businesses for Coyote Radio, Coyote Chronicle, Coyote TV, etc. Students in the program and the program itself have won ADDY awards for their excellence in advertising creativity and execution. Poore brings all of this knowledge and enthusiasm for advertising and marketing to the AAF-IE which is why he is now vice president of the chapter.

The American Advertising Federation- Inland Empire chapter is a non-profit organization that helps “promote the free exchange of ideas and information relating to all fields of advertising in the Inland Empire, and to encourage excellence in these fields” (http://www.aaf.org). AAF-IE is the only professional trade organization with memberships from all over the advertising industry.
