BIG BEAR LAKE– Big Bear Valley needs a learning center for adults.  We needed a program that incorporates adults wanting to better themselves. The Adult Learning and Referral Center program is sponsored by the Big Bear Valley Hummingbird Project, a nonprofit 501(c) 3. Third District Supervisor James Ramos provided the Learning Center with a $5,000.00 grant for the Center to help provide some free classes such as GED, English as a Second Language and provide class scholarships to low income adults for job training classes.

“It is never too late for those who wish to attain their educational goals. Education is the key that unlocks the door to endless possibilities,” commented Supervisor James Ramos, whose district includes the Big Bear Valley. “It was a pleasure to help obtain grant funding for the Adult Learning Center.”

The Learning Center was established by Elaine Tennity, President of the Bear Valley Hummingbird Project, Inc. and Yomar Cleary, Vice President of the Big Bear Computer Club.  The Center is located at the Community Church-Big Bear, 40946 Big Bear Blvd, in Big Bear Lake.  The Learning Center is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and by appointment outside those hours.  For more information, please contact Yomar Cleary at (760) 946.6448 or email her at BigBearALRC@gmail.com.
