Join Corona PD’s New Dog Walker Watch Program!

Corona Dog Walker Watch

Corona, CA – The Corona Police Department is excited to announce a new community awareness program called Dog Walker Watch. Residents and their four-legged friends are invited to join and assist the police department as an extra set of eyes and ears in the community.

Dog Walker Watch is an awareness program sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch. The program is designed for neighbors who are familiar with their community and are out in the neighborhood on a regular basis, with or without a dog. Unlike a community watch program, Dog Walker Watch requires no commitment beyond an individual’s regular routine of a daily walk.

The Corona Police Department’s Crime Prevention Team will be hosting free training sessions for those interested in joining the Dog Walker Watch:

  • Tuesday, July 9 at 6:30 p.m. at Santana Park (598 Santana Way)
  • Saturday, July 13 at 10 a.m. at Promenade Park (615 Richey St)
  • Saturday, July 13 at 1 p.m. at Eagle Glen Park (4190 Bennett Ave)

Click here to sign up for a training session!

The training sessions will provide dog walkers with the skills and abilities needed to become more aware of their surroundings. Residents will also learn how and when to report suspicious activity.

All Dog Walker Watch members will receive a membership card with safety tips as well as a branded dog bandana. The first 200 residents who complete the training will receive a goodie bag at the program’s launch party on August 6, 2019 during National Night Out.

The Corona Police Department would like to thank our local Walmart and Sam’s Club for their generous donations to support the program.
