Lecture, "In The Palm of My Hand"

Join Curator of History Michele Nielsen for a presentation, “In Palm of My Hand,” in the Mariposa Clubhouse at Del Webb’s Sun City in Apple Valley on Tuesday, November 16 at 1:00 pm. This event is free and open to public.

“As a museum, we are excited to introduce ourselves to the High Desert region,” said Nielsen. “You will learn about diminutive artifacts in the San Bernardino County Museum’s permanent collections, and how they are very important to our collective history. Artifacts, whether large or small, can transport us back in time, and enable us to learn more about life in the past. Objects that are small enough to fit in your palm can have big stories to tell.”

Tiny treasures are not found just in museum collections. Families often have special objects that have a unique story, important in your family history. Resource information will be available for guests to find out more about caring for and preserving their own artifacts for future generations. “As a part of this special presentation, we will look at cultural traditions, social customs, and daily life in the past,” said Nielsen.

Del Webb’s Sun City Apple Valley is located at 19311 Jesse Ranch Parkway in Apple Valley. Residents of Sun City are asked to call (760)  247-9195 to make reservations. No reservations are necessary for the general public.
