Lecture, “Meteorites or Meteor-wrongs?”

On Sunday, November 14, Curator of Geology J. Chris Sagebiel will present a lecture “Meteorites or Meteor-wrongs?” at 2pm the San Bernardino  County  Museum  in Redlands. This program is included in paid museum admission.

“Why are there different kinds of meteorites?” asked Sagebiel. “How does one identify a meteorite? If this heavy rock isn’t a meteorite, what could it possibly be? What we can learn about our planet and our solar system from meteorites? How common are they?” Sagebiel will also talk about the meteorite exhibit planned for the museum’s new Hall of Geological Wonders.

The San Bernardino County Museum is at the California Street exit from Interstate 10 in Redlands. The museum is open Tuesdays through Sundays and holiday Mondays from 9am to 5pm. Admission is $8 (adult), $6 (military or senior), $5 (student) and $4 (child aged 5 to 12).
