Library Presents "Book Publishing 1-2-3: From the Writer’s Fingers to the Reader’s Hands"

Upland – Sweetened with stories and tips (for example, how to find literary agents), this program is designed to inform, empower, and inspire aspiring authors. We’ll briefly check out self-publishing and e-books, discuss the children’s literature market, track a manuscript through the traditional publication process, and share practical ideas about how writers can sell their work.

Other highlights include writing exercises and our “Editor’s Tips on Craft” segment.

Sat., Nov. 13, 2-3 p.m. at the Upland Public Library, 450 N. Euclid Ave., Upland.

Free; no reservations needed.

Presenter: Book editor/proofreader Laurie Gibson, whose projects range from “The Color Purple” (Alice Walker) to “Tales from Margaritaville” (Jimmy Buffett) and several titles by Brian Tracy, the bestselling business author. Laurie also taught at both UCLA and U.C. San Diego (Extension programs) for nearly a decade.
