Lifeguards and Staff Needed For Fontana Pools

Fontana, California – The Mayor and City Council invite trained lifeguards, swimming instructors and pool managers to apply for seasonal positions at Fontana’s pools this summer.

“We want dedicated workers who have an interest in aquatics,” said Megan Wolfe, Community Services Coordinator for Fontana’s Aquatic Center. “Summer is quickly approaching and Fontana is looking for lifeguards and swim instructors as well as pool managers and assistant pool managers.”

Positions are currently open for Lifeguards or Water Safety Instructors.

To apply for the position of Lifeguard, a candidate must be at least 16 years old and have a valid work permit. Have current certifications in AED Essentials, CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Lifeguard Training and First Aid. Lifeguards will also need to show that they understand the principals and practices of water safety, rescue methods, lifesaving techniques and first aid as applied to accidents in the water and surrounding pool areas

Water Safety Instructors, in addition to all lifeguarding responsibilities, are responsible for teaching all levels of the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Program. In addition to lifeguarding requirements, Water Safety Instructors must have Water Safety Instructor certification.

Seasonal positions also include pool manager and an assistant pool manager.
