Local Companies Being Tapped for Local Jobs Inland Empire West End Job Fair Returns

Planning is underway for the third annual Inland Empire West End Job Fair — “Local Jobs for Local Residents” as multiple cities, the county, partnering organizations and companies throughout the San Bernardino County area gear up for this popular recruiting event, which returns to the LA/Ontario International Airport on Thursday, October 27, 2011.

Inland Empire West End Job Fair organizers are currently accepting registrations from companies interested in participating in the Job Fair and there is no cost for employers to participate. Businesses and organizations within the greater San Bernardino County area that are currently offering full time or part-time employment opportunities in the areas of Professional/Managerial, Technical, Clerical, Sales, Service, and other positions are welcome to attend.

The Inland Empire West End Job Fair provides an exceptional opportunity for local companies to recruit from a large pool of local, talented professionals and highly skilled technical candidates. Last year, the Inland Empire West End Job Fair featured more than 100 employers and was attended by more than 2,500 job seekers.

Companies within San Bernardino County will be accepted as participants in the Inland Empire West End Job Fair on a first-come, first-served basis, as there is a limit to the number of businesses that can be accommodated. The goal of the event will be to provide a diverse cross-section of employers offering permanent positions, and participation may also be limited to the number of companies within any given industry. Thus, any employer considering participating in the Job Fair is encouraged to register right away.

Companies interested in participating in this event can register online at: http://2011jobfair.eventbrite.com. Once the registration information has been received, Inland Empire West End Job Fair staff members will review the registration information and follow up with the company to confirm their space at the event.

The Inland Empire West End Job Fair came about as a result of the desire by local and regional officials to assist local residents with finding employment opportunities within the San Bernardino County area. With an average unemployment rate among participating West End communities at about 12.6% — which is close to both the County (14.3%) and State (12.4%) unemployment rates — the Job Fair is a welcome event.

The Inland Empire West End Job Fair is being organized by the cities of Chino, Fontana, Montclair, Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga and Upland; County of San Bernardino Workforce Investment Board; LA/Ontario International Airport; Ontario Chamber of Commerce, Rancho Cucamonga Chamber of Commerce; First Presbyterian Church of Upland; KSPA Radio; and the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin.
