Local Non-Profit Launches Monthly Play Date to Build Awareness & Inclusion

RIVERSIDE, CA – The Arc of Riverside County, in partnership with Shane’s Inspiration and the City of Riverside Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department, will launch My PlayClub® on Saturday, May 21 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fairmount Park Universally Accessible Playground.

My PlayClub® will be a monthly play date program for children of all abilities, designed to promote inclusion and break down barriers. One Saturday each month, families will join together at the playground to participate in a fun-filled event bringing friendship and awareness to hundreds of children in our community. The day’s activities will include live entertainment, face painting and refreshments for My PlayClub® registrants. A play date sounds so simple, but when you pair a child with and a child without a disability together for the first time in their lives…magic happens.

Children playing together at this young age benefits everyone and helps achieve our city’s goal of a more inclusive community.

This event is endorsed by the City of Riverside Commission on Disabilities and Parks and Recreation Commission. This month, the play date is sponsored by Bud’s Tire & Wheel.

For additional event information or to inquire about sponsorship opportunities please contact Michelle Baldwin, Director of Communications, at (951) 688-5141 extension 225 or via email at MBaldwin@ArcRiverside.org.
