March Field Air Museum Welcomes All Military Veterans & Families at Complimentary Open House

Special Event Coincides with Series of “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day” – Activities Being Held throughout Region on March 25

Riverside, Ca. – The March Field Air Museum is proud to participate in a series of “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day” community events happening on Saturday, March 25, 2017, by hosting an Open House that is complimentary for all military veterans and their families.  Beginning at noon, the Open House at March Field Air Museum will follow a Patriotic Ceremony being held at the nearby Amphitheater at Riverside National Cemetery.  The special Open House will include the Riverside Concert Band providing patriotic music as guests enter the Museum, complimentary refreshments, and camaraderie in a special area of the Museum. In addition, all guests are welcome to stay and enjoy the Museum until closing at 4 p.m.

As background, “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day” is a nationwide effort that recognizes the men and women who were denied a proper welcome upon returning home more than 40 years ago and honors the sacrifices made by Vietnam veterans and their families.

A sampling of the commemorative events happening throughout the region on Saturday, March 25 includes the following:
  • 9 a.m. – 2017 Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day Motorcycle Ride that begins at American Legion Post 79 at Fairmount Park (2979 Dexter Avenue in Riverside);
  • 10 a.m. – Patriotic Ceremony at the Amphitheatre at Riverside National Cemetery (22495 Van Buren Blvd. in Riverside);
  • Noon – Open House at March Field Air Museum that is complimentary for all military veterans and their families (22550 Van Buren Blvd. in Riverside);
  • 4 p.m. – Community gathering at American Legion Post 79 at Fairmount Park (2979 Dexter Avenue in Riverside).

The March Field Air Museum is located alongside Interstate Highway 215 at Van Buren Boulevard, just south of downtown Riverside and adjacent to March Air Reserve Base.
