Mary Vagle Nature Center August Update

Fontana, California, July 20, 2011.  The Mayor and City Council invite the public to the Mary Vagle Nature Center this month for their fun and educational summer programs. The Mary Vagle Nature Center is located at 11501 Cypress Avenue in Fontana and is open Wednesday through Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The Nature Center will continue to host their summer Family Film Series throughout the month of August. This month’s features will include: Enchanted on August 6 and Tangled on August 20. Free face painting will begin at 7:15 pm, and movies will promptly begin at 8 pm. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and snacks.

Ongoing weekend programs include Adventures into Nature, Discovery Hikes, EarthCraft Afternoons, and Nature Rangers. Discovery Hikes are held every first Saturday of the month, and this month it will be on August 6 at 9:30 am. Adventures into Nature are every second Saturday of the month, and will be on August 13 at 12 pm. Nature Rangers are every third Saturday of month, and will be on August 20 at noon. EarthCraft afternoons are every last Sunday of the month, and will be August 28 from 1 pm to 4 pm.
