WASHINGTON, D.C.

Rep. Howard P. “Buck” McKeon (CA-25) issued the following statement after being selected to serve as a Congressional escort to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who today made a historic second address before a joint session of Congress:

“It was an honor to have Prime Minister Netanyahu in Washington today addressing a joint session of Congress, where he reaffirmed the strength of the American relationship with Israel.  The opportunity to help escort the Prime Minister was truly a privilege,” said McKeon.

“Our countries have a valuable and longstanding relationship whereby our alliance helps maintain and encourage greater peace, stability, and democracy in the Middle East,” McKeon continued.  “It is critical that our bonds remain strong and our focus remains nobly on liberation from tyrant rule and protection from terrorist attack.  Together, we want and will prevail in finding and fostering peace.”
