Why: Community engagement through the arts to increase outreach and awareness on mental health and mental illness conditions to reduce stigmas and encourage more individuals to seek help. As well as, increase sensitivity training among law enforcement.
Yearly, more than 54 million Americans has one or more diagnosable mental disorders. Approx 26%.
6 million children and youth suffer a mental disorder.
Most common mental health disorders: depression, anxiety, bi-polar, schizophrenia, dementia, eating.

Women Who Hide campaign director, Cheyenne English, says “Wigs ‘N Weaves & The Natural You – An Evening of Mental Wellness Edutainment” has been designed for the entire family. It will provide an exciting and inviting entertainment environment with mental health and mental wellness messages uniquely delivered in a variety of genres involving instrumental music, hip hop (Jody Johnson), spoken word (Boxx, VII VII VII), comedy (Karen Bankhead) and a live stage play entitled ‘The Elephant In The Room’ by Empower U.”
Ms. English continued by stating, “Wigs ‘N Weaves & The Natural You” is a unique platform serving as the catalyst between the resources needed and the ones who may greatly benefit from them.”
During the event, Women Who Hide will also recognize Ms. Linda Hart, Executive Director of the African American Mental Health Coalition, in association with El Sol, for successfully training, graduating and deploying mental health community outreach workers throughout San Bernardino County.
Proceeds will benefit OneNation Media and its efforts to outreach to youth in effort to reduce mental health risk and teen suicide.
