Riverside Community College District Chancellor Wolde-Ab Isaac, Ph.D., announced the appointment of Monica Green, Ed.D., as the fourth president of Norco College, effective April 1. He made the recommendation today at the regular Board of Trustees meeting. Isaac described Green as “deeply committed to the success of Norco College, its faculty, staff and students.” The Board unanimously approved the appointment.
“For over a decade Monica Green has shown commitment to the Riverside Community College District,” said RCCD Board President Mary Figueroa. “I look forward to the accomplishments Norco College will see under her leadership.”
Green, a first generation college student, served as the interim president of Norco College since July 1, 2019. Prior to this role, she led Riverside City College as the vice president of Planning and Development. Prior to RCC, she served as the dean and later vice president of the Norco College Student Services division from 2009 – 2018, where she developed, implemented, and evaluated student services programs to support student access, equity, and success.
“I am truly honored to be part of a community that understands the power of education and its ability to transform lives,” said Green. “I couldn’t be more excited for this opportunity and look forward to leading Norco College for years to come.”
Green led the development of Norco College’s award-winning Summer Advantage program in collaboration with the Corona-Norco Unified School District. She also led the college’s Completion Initiative and Guided Pathways movement focused on increasing student degree and certificate completion. Most recently, she led the college to a successful accreditation visit that ended with a standing ovation from the accreditation team.
She serves as past-president of Soroptimist International of Corona where she advocates for the educational advancement of women and girls locally and internationally. Green also provided program leadership to the local Chamber of Commerce’s Executive Leadership Roundtable and serves on the Corona History Association Executive Board.
Green holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Social Relations from University of California, Riverside, master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from California State University, San Bernardino and a doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Pepperdine University.
