Mt. San Jacinto College Announces New location for 2018 Commencement

Temecula, CA – Mt. San Jacinto College is excited to announce that for the first time in its history, it will hold commencement ceremonies at Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula. Two ceremonies are scheduled at the new location: one at 10 a.m. for the nursing pinning ceremony and graduation for nursing; the second at 5 p.m. for the remainder of the graduates. The 2018 commencements will be held on Friday, May 25 at 45000 Pechanga Parkway Temecula, CA 92592.

The decision to move from the Ramona Bowl Amphitheater to Pechanga was made in order to better accommodate graduates, family and friends who attend the ceremony.  The new location offers plenty of parking, security and access for disabled students and guests. It will be inside Pechanga’s newest ballrooms, so it also provides protection against heat, wind or rain.

Last year, 1,300 individuals graduated from MSJC. About half of those graduates participated in the ceremony and brought friends and family. MSJC will issue a limited number of wrist bands to each graduate that they can distribute to family and friends.

MSJC is excited to celebrate its Class of 2018 with the theme MSJC Eagle Proud – Soaring to New Heights. Graduates and visitors are encouraged to share photos using the hashtag #MSJCEagleProud.

It is important that graduates and their guests arrive early in order to allow for traffic, parking, and to secure seats. The evening ceremony will begin at 5:00 and doors will open at 3:00 for seating only to guests wearing the 2018 Commencement wrist bands. Graduates should check in and be in line at least one hour before the ceremony. Those who need a disability-related accommodation can call 951.487.3305 or look for Mt. San Jacinto College Disabled Students Programs and Services table at Pechanga. For more information, visit www.msjc.edu/Graduation.
