National Orange Show Scholarship Pageant Crowns Queen

San Bernardino, Calif. – In conjunction with an official local division of the Miss America Organization, the National Orange Show is pleased to announce Nishi Munshi as the reigning National Orange Show queen for the year of 2011.

Ten contestants competed for the title and scholarship based on overall performance in talent, swimwear, evening gown, and interview competitions judged by a panel of State Certified and Inland Empire Community Judges. In a rare occurrence, Nishi Munshi scored the highest in every category of the pageant, completely sweeping the competition.

The 2011 queen will reign over the National Orange Show Festival later this year in May, as well as participate in various events throughout the year with the National Orange Show Organization, which in celebrating 100 years in 2011. Nishi will also go on to compete for Miss California later this year.

“Nishi is an outstanding young woman,” commented Derrick Vasquez, Director of Catering and Special Events at the National Orange Show Events Center and one of the community judges for the pageant. “We are confident that she will be a fantastic representative of our community and the National Orange Show organization.”

The pageant also crowned Bayli Rae Johnston as Miss National Orange Show Outstanding Teen 2011.
