Ontario, Ca. – The Greater Ontario Convention & Visitors Bureau has announced the Destination Services Manager, Andrey Gorbachenko, of the California Welcome Center at Ontario Mills has accepted the Chair position of the California Welcome Centers Committee. Andrey is the youngest Chair ever to take on this important role with Visit California. The new leaders of Visit California’s eight industry committees are meeting for the first time in Sacramento this week to help guide the industry-funded statewide tourism marketing program.
Visit California’s committees play a vital role in the organization’s efforts to promote travel to the state of California, providing guidance on the $131 million global marketing program that supports the state’s $140.6 billion tourism industry. Each committee is comprised of highly specialized groups of industry leaders whose expertise and dedication shape specific areas of Visit California’s marketing program.
“We are pleased that Andrey has been recognized. Since opening the California Welcome Center at Ontario Mills in Fashion Alley in 2015 we have been second only to Pier 39 in San Francisco as the top center in the state due to an average of 15,000 visitors monthly and the dedication of our team to deliver excellent guest service.” said Michael Krouse, President & CEO of Greater Ontario Convention & Visitors Bureau.
As the official destination marketing organization, the Greater Ontario Convention & Visitors Bureau represents the cities of Ontario and Rancho Cucamonga and is solely funded through the Greater Ontario Tourism Marketing District. A leisure traveler or meeting planner can choose economy to full-service from over 6,000 hotel rooms in Greater Ontario, enjoy several entertainment venues, a shopper’s paradise and a diverse, multi-cultural restaurant scene. Information about statewide and local tourism destinations is available at the California Welcome Center in Fashion Alley at Ontario Mills.
