New Family Events to the New City of Eastvale

Eastvale Community Foundation Non-Profit Established to Bring Family Events to the New City of Eastvale While Generating Funds for Eastvale-based Charities

November 7, 2011 — Eastvale, CA — Residents of the City of Eastvale have formed a non-profit organization, the Eastvale Community Foundation (ECF), to raise funds for Eastvale’s charitable organizations and bring events to the community. With these goals in mind, the Eastvale City Council initiated the necessary procedures to create the foundation. Heading the efforts to bring this non-profit to the community were Mayor Pro-Tem Jeff DeGrandpre and Council Member Kelly Howell. All five of the council members appointed the inaugural non-profit board members. “The city council saw a need to establish a non-profit to bring community activities to Eastvale,” said DeGrandpre. “As we were approaching our first-year anniversary as a city, we wanted to explore different ideas to celebrate the event now and in the future; establishing a non-profit enabled us to do so.”

Residents appointed to the inaugural board of directors include Al Nassar, Eren Cello, Jeff Williams, Yvonne Benitez, Pastor Rick Morris, Julie Reyes and DeGrandpre.

“We are very excited for the opportunity to bring family oriented fun events with a purpose to Eastvale while raising needed funds for our local charities and organizations.” said Nassar, who was appointed as Executive Director of the Foundation. “We want every resident and business to get involved with the foundation so we can help bridge the gaps in this great city.”

The ECF will hold their first event on Friday, December 9, at the new Eastvale Fire Station as they kick off the holiday season with the Spark of Love Toy Drive and Fire Station Tour. The event is complimentary for all and will feature cookies, hot cocoa, carolers, station tours and other activities for kids. There will also be an opportunity to take a photo with jolly Santa Claus himself!

The organization is actively seeking volunteers to help plan and hold events throughout the year. Anyone with skills in event planning, fundraising, accounting, legal support, or just a desire to get to know others in the community while volunteering is welcome to contact the foundation at 951-268-4079.
