No More Waiting in Line for Santa: Promenade Temecula Launches New “Virtual Queue”

TEMECULA, Calif., (November 25, 2013) – During the holidays, families are always seeking new ways to maximize their time.  For this reason, Promenade Temecula is helping local families to balance their holiday shopping with favorite traditions – such as photos with Santa – by launching an all-new program that allows customers to virtually reserve a place in the line to see Santa.

The free program, called Santa’s Free Speed Pass, allows guests to check-in with a host at Santa’s photo set in front of JCPenney and reserve a virtual spot in line.

“The holidays are the busiest time of the year, and we are always seeking new ways to maximize our shoppers’ time,” says Kym Espinosa, Director of Marketing for Promenade Temecula.  “We understand that our guests are excited to share their free time with their families, and they would rather not spend two or three of those hours waiting in line to see Santa.”

Guests who would like to take part in the new Santa’s Free Speed Pass are invited to stop by Santa’s photo set at Promenade Temecula and provide the on-site host with their cell phone number.  From there, the host will text the guest 20 minutes prior to their photo visit with Santa, giving them the opportunity to return to the photo set and join the fast track line.

“Instead of waiting in a long line, Santa’s Free Speed Pass gives our guests the opportunity to finish up their holiday shopping or grab a bite at one of our wonderful restaurants, while still being able to see Santa and take a memorable holiday photo,” notes Espinosa.

In addition, guests have the option to push back their place in the virtual queue if they would like more time to shop or dine.

“After a guest receives a text from Santa’s host, they have the option to text back to request additional time before joining the fast track line,” explains Espinosa, who notes that this feature will allow shoppers to complete their current activity without losing their spot in line.

In addition, guests who are not yet at the center have the option to text “Santa” to (909) 962-7647 to be added to the virtual line for a photo with Santa.

Dates for the Santa’s Free Speed Pass include:

Black Friday weekend:            November 29, November 30, December 1

1st weekend in December:      December 7, December 8

2nd weekend in December:     December 14, December 15

Final week of the season:       December 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24

A traditional line will also be available for guests who do not wish to take part in the new Santa’s Free Speed Pass program.
