Office of Business Development workshop focuses on dealing with change in the office

Workplace trainer says change is constant

SAN BERNARDINO, CA  — The City of San Bernardino, Economic Development Agency, Office of Business Development is hosting a workshop that will focus on dealing with change in the workplace from 9 a.m. to 11 am., Thursday, Jan. 27. The workshop will be held at the Office of Business Development, 201-B N. E Street, Suite 200, in San Bernardino.

The seminar, titled “Plan for Success,” is taught by Rudy Westervelt, president of Power in Learning, a Crestline-based company that provides top-level management training to small businesses. Westervelt has more than 30 years experience managing companies in Corporate America.

Westervelt said the workshop will teach employees how to deal with unforeseen changes in the workplace such as medical emergencies or losing a supplier.

Lori Tillery, economic development manager, said, “Teaching employees how to cope with change is an important issue in maintaining a healthy work environment. The workplace has dealt with huge changes in the last few decades such as new technology, companies relocating and employees working at home. Both employees and managers need to understand that change is constant.”
