Ontario 5K Reindeer Run and Rudolph’s Dash

On December 14th the City of Ontario Recreation and Community Services Department will host their annual 5K Reindeer Run and Rudolph’s Dash in support of its partnership with the Ontario/Montclair Promise Scholars Program.  This award-winning organization helps students achieve their dream of a college education.   The “Promise” also includes a commitment to help students as they progress from elementary through high school and then on to college, with field trips to colleges for 5th graders, parent presentations, college fairs, and assistance with college applications and financial aid forms. Promise Scholars guarantees a place in partner colleges or trade schools for all Ontario-Montclair School District students if they stay in school and graduate.

This year, in addition to the 5K Run and Dash, there will be plenty of activities for the entire family.  In Santa’s Village area, there will be arts and craft booths for kids, mini obstacle courses, fitness programs, and so much more!  There will also be a pancake breakfast beginning at 8:30 A.M., prepared by Ontario’s very own Police and Fire Departments, for the price of $3.00 per breakfast.

If you would like to register for the 5K Run or Rudolph’s Dash, you can visit the website at . Current registration fees are $35 until December 6th.  Price includes a 5K commemorative t-shirt and a draw string goody bag filled with coupons and product samples.  Same day registration will also be available for $40.  Check-in begins at 7 A.M.  Rudolph’s Dash will begin at 8 A.M. with the 5K Run following at 8:30 A.M. Come and enjoy the race and dress up in your most festive holiday running gear.

There will be an opportunity drawing to win a 2014 KIA SOUL.  Tickets may be purchased for $10 at the Ontario-Montclair School Employees Federal Credit Union.    All proceeds will benefit Promise Scholars.  The winning ticket will be drawn at the conclusion of the 5K Run on December 14th.  Bring an unwrapped toy for Santa and his helpers to deliver to under-privileged children in the Ontario community.
