ONTARIO: Mayor and City Council Will Host The City of Ontario’s 26th Annual National Night Out Event

CITY OF ONTARIO NATIONAL NIGHT OUT EVENT

The Ontario Mayor and City Council will host the City of Ontario’s 26th annual National Night Out event on Tuesday, August 7, 2012. National Night Out is a city-wide collection of block parties and neighborhood gatherings focused on building partnerships between community members and public safety.

 

An estimated 12,500 Ontario residents will join over 37 million people across the nation in showing their support and commitment to maintaining drug and crime free neighborhoods. The City of Ontario has consistently received national recognition for event participation levels and was ranked 5th in the 2011 nation-wide event.

 

Premier sponsors for this year’s event include Best, Best, & Krieger, National Association of Town Watch, Target, John Elway’s Crown Toyota, and Law Enforcement of Ontario (L.E.O.).

 

The event timeline and activities are as follows:

 

5:30 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. –        Kick-Off Ceremony,                                                                                                                          700 Block of North Alameda Ave.

The Night Out Kick-Off ceremony will bring together local elected officials, public safety responders and members of the community to celebrate the opening of this year’s event.

6:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. –        Giant Block Party at the Park, DeAnza Community Center,                                                       1405 S. Fern Ave.

The “Giant Block Party at the Park” is open to the public and will feature entertainment, food, children’s activities and public safety demonstrations from law enforcement and fire personnel.

6:00 P.M. to 9:30 P.M. –        City neighborhood parties and gatherings

Neighborhoods throughout Ontario will be celebrating with block parties and other festivities alongside regional public safety personnel in a show of unity and mutual support.
