ONTARIO MUSEUM OF HISTORY & ART IS RECRUITING VOLUNTEER GALLERY GUIDES
Ontario, CA – The Ontario Museum of History & Art is excited to debut its new team of volunteer Gallery Guides for exhibits in the Fall of 2016. What is a Gallery Guide? Gallery Guides are friendly, engaging, trained volunteers that greet visitors, provide exhibit information, and have fun conversations about the artwork and artifacts in the Museum’s galleries. Gallery Guides are vital in forging bonds between the Museum and the community. Open to high school students and adults, this is the perfect volunteer position for individuals that are enthusiastic, enjoy working with people, and love sharing their passion for art, history, and culture. The time commitment is one to three Saturdays a month from 2 PM to 4 PM.
The Museum’s first Gallery Guide training will take place on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 10 AM to 12 PM. The training will feature a behind the scenes curatorial tour of the Día de los Muertos: Sharing Traditions exhibit, a presentation about the history of Día de los Muertos, and an overview of the Museum. Reservations are required for the free training.
