Opening Ceremonies for Senior Games on February 8

Indio, CADesert Recreation District – The 13th Annual Palm Desert Senior Games are set to start on Thursday, February 7 in Palm Desert.  1,000+ athletes from 19 states and 27 countries will participate in 13 sporting events throughout the four day event being held February 7 – 10, 2012.

Sports range from table tennis and golf to swimming and, the most popular, pickleball.  Individual and team competitions will fill 13 venues throughout Palm Desert and surrounding areas.

Spectators are always a motivator for athletes and are encouraged to join one or more of the many events scheduled.  There is no charge to attend events.

Opening Ceremonies are scheduled for Friday, February 8th at 3:30pm at the Palm Desert Civic Center Park located at 43-900 San Pablo Avenue in Palm Desert, CA 92260.  Riverside County Board Supervisor, John Benoit will join in welcoming athletes for this great weekend event.  Admission is free and everyone is encouraged to attend.
