Outrage at Judge’s Ruling Causing Child’s Death

Two year old Isaac Gallegos, 2, got a chocolate dinosaur for Easter. His mom, Andrea Gallegos, 22, earlier was disbelieved by Judge John Pacheco when she told him her little boy’s life was in danger when given visitation rights by his violent father.

Little Isaac never got a chance to enjoy the Easter present. He was murdered four days later by his father, Alex Baeza. Judge Pacheco warned Mrs. Gallegos, who testified before him about bruises to her child, “…if you continue to act that way….I’ll have to take custody away from you.” She was afraid to go back to the judge when she saw further abuse, and now the child is dead.

“This is outrageous,” said Richard David Boyle, President of Teachers for a Change. “The same thing happened last year when Judge Robert Lemkau in Victorville called little Wyatt Tagle’s mother a ‘liar’ and her boy also was murdered by his father,” said Boyle, who may lead a recall drive against Judge Pacheco. There was such outrage against Judge Lemkau that he was voted out of office.

Boyle also last year fought for tougher protection laws for children after a preschool owner so violently beat a 2 year old girl in Norco, Riverside County, that the child is now brain dead. “If judges or child protective services don’t care about child safety, it is up to us voters,” said Boyle, who has contacted the Secretary of State’s office and Child Protective Services.  “Judges who blame the victims and defend criminals should not be on the bench,” Boyle said.
