Pacific Mercantile Bank Recruits Industry Veteran to Head up Its Inland Empire Region

Bank aims to expand regional office, customer base

ONTARIO, Calif. (Aug. 25, 2011) — Pacific Mercantile Bank has appointed Eugene E. Valdez as the Senior Vice President and Regional Manager of its Financial Center located in Ontario.  The bank’s Ontario Financial Center services the greater Inland Empire area.

In this new role, Valdez will be responsible for increasing the bank’s brand and name recognition in the IE as well as developing new clients in the commercial and industrial markets.  According to Valdez, the bank is targeting Inland Empire companies with annual sales of $5 million to $100 million, with loans ranging anywhere from $250,000 to $10 million.

A resident of Upland, Valdez has lived in the Inland Empire for 30 years and has worked for several leading banks and financial institutions. Valdez has a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and a master’s in business administration from the University of Southern California.  He is on the board of directors of the Inland Empire Chapter of the Risk Management Association and is a member of the loan committee of Enterprise Funding, the Redlands-based CDC licensed to underwrite SBA 504 loans.

“We offer business owners general business loans, lines of credit and SBA or conventional loans to purchase commercial buildings,” Valdez said  “The bank also offers a wide-range of deposit and checking products for business and individuals, among other services such as cash management, Internet banking and a mortgage home loan division.”
