Performance Riverside Presents Broadway’s Family Favorite, “Annie” April 13-22

PERFORMANCE RIVERSIDE PRESENTS BROADWAY’S FAMILY FAVORITE, “ANNIE” April 13 – 22

Leapin’ lizards! Performance Riverside is giving a whole new generation Inland Empire children and their families the chance to experience the Tony Award Winning Broadway family hit ANNIE, April 13 – 22. The production is directed by Roger Castellano and choreographed by Rhett Guter, with musical direction by David Lamoureux, and produced by Matt Neves.

Performance Riverside’s production will mark the 35th anniversary of original Broadway production, which opened on April 21, 1977 and was nominated for eleven Tony Awards, winning seven, including the Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book. It also marks twenty-five years since Performance Riverside’s first production of ANNIE in the spring of 1987. A new production of ANNIE is scheduled to open on Broadway in the fall of 2012.

Based on the Harold Gray comic strip, “Little Orphan Annie”, ANNIE has music by Charles Strouse and lyrics by Martin Charnin, with the book written by Thomas Meehan. The perennial favorite boasts one of Broadway’s most unforgettable scores, including “It’s the Hard-Knock Life,” “Easy Street,” “N.Y.C.” and the ever-optimistic “Tomorrow.”

Jaidyn Young will portray the title character of ”Annie” with David Aldrete as Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks, Kirklynn Robinson as Mrs. Hannigan, Choreographer Rhett Guter as “Rooster”, and Natasha Harris as Grace Farrell. The cast also features Jonathan Arana, Jillian Batt, Steven Biggs, Kaitlyn Boyd, Tyler Boyd, Brennley Brown, Ashlen Bullock, Deborah Fauerbach, Johnny Fletcher, Anna Hightower, Karla Franko, Tim Martin, Deanna Ott, Robert Parkinson, Isabelle Plazola, John Shannon, Sophie Sooter, Jennifer Webb, Rebekah Webb and Savannah Webb.

Performance Riverside is a professional theatrical company operating in the Landis Performing Arts Center under the authority of the Riverside Community College and providing top-quality performing arts for the people of Southern California’s Inland Empire.
