Perris & Menifee Police Departments “Shop with a Cop”

Perris and Menifee Police

On Saturday, December 3, 2016, at 9:00 a.m., the Perris and Menifee Police Departments kicked off their annual “Shop with a Cop” holiday community service program.  During the event, thirty-five area children were treated to a patrol car ride from the Perris Station to the Perris Walmart, complete with lights and siren.

At the store, deputies and citizen volunteers shopped for holiday gifts with the children.  Each child received a $125.00 gift card to purchase gifts for themselves, family and friends.  Walmart gave each child a pair of shoes, and Ali Mazarei of the Perris Arco Travel Zone generously gave each child a cold weather jacket.

After shopping, Skydive Perris hosted a luncheon Christmas party for the children and donated a knit cap to each child.  During the luncheon, the children watched a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department K-9 demonstration, and received a surprise visit from Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, A.K.A. Menifee City Councilman John Denver and his wife Linda.

The Perris and Menifee Police Departments would like to thank Perris Walmart, Stater Bros. Markets’ District 2 Supervision and Management Team, Ali Mazarei and the Perris Arco Travel Zone, Perris Citizens Patrol, Nuevo Citizens Patrol, Menifee Crime Watch, Perris and Menifee Explorer Scouts, Riverside County Sheriff’s Posse, Perris Fire Department, and the Board of Supervisor’s 5th District, whose generous donations made this event possible.
