Rapper MC Eiht on the Lookout for the Hottest MCs in the IE

Upland, CA–Think you have what it takes to take the crown?  Hosted by west coast rap legend and actor MC Eiht, West Coast Sundays is the new 18 and over open mic spot to battle it out in the IE.  Rap and hip-hop independent artists ready to perform their hottest verses over their track can compete for a spot in the $5000 Las Vegas finale this spring.  Held at the Palace (1276 W. 7th Street, Upland, CA) on Sunday September 22nd and every other Sunday thereafter,   West Coast Sundays will feature special guest DJs and performances by MC Eight and various chart topping artists.    Doors open at 8:00 PM with $10 cover charge before 10:30 PM, $15 after. To perform, Indie artists must register by sending an e-mail toajjohnsonlive@gmail.com by leaving their name or call 702-979-4710

“We want to give the 18 and over crowd a place of their own and an outlet for young independent artists to show off their talent in front of their fans and people who already know the music business like MC Eiht.” says Mario Neeley of Street Swag, organizer for West Coast Sundays.  In the rap game since the 1990’s, MC Eiht went solo after his role as A-Wax in the critically acclaimed movie “Menace II Society” and was recently featured on Kendrick Lamar’s hit song “m.A.A.d City”.  In addition to performing and hosting, MC Eiht will be part of the celebrity judge panel with the difficult task of picking out the best performers of the night.

West Coast Sundays’ winners will get a chance to battle it out in Las Vegas.  Finalists from California will compete against Vegas finalists for a $5000 cash prize, a recording contract and a chance to perform onstage with a celebrity headline
