RCCD Appoints Susan Mills As Vice Chancellor

Longtime Educator And Leader Named Vice Chancellor Of Educational Services And Strategic Planning

Riverside, CARiverside Community College District Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Susan Mills, Ph.D., as Vice Chancellor of Educational Services and Strategic Planning. She will begin her new assignment at the District Office on July 2.

Mills has been employed in the RCCD since 1991 in various capacities, including as a faculty member, rising to the rank of professor of mathematics; then as a department chair; outcomes assessment coordinator; associate vice president for institutional effectiveness; interim vice president of academic affairs; and, most recently, as vice president of planning and development at Riverside City college.

“RCCD is fortunate to have a person with such an impressive track record and with a long-established attachment and commitment to the District and student success,” Chancellor Wolde-Ab Isaac said.

As the Vice Chancellor of Educational Services and Strategic Planning, Mills will oversee District educational and strategic planning, curriculum, distance education, institutional research, grant development and management, international programs, and economic and partnership development. She will also provide leadership for the support of district-wide information and learning technologies for instruction, student services and administrative and operational systems.

“I look forward to leading the office of educational services and strategic planning,” Mills said. “We are committed to student access, success, and equity by supporting clear, coherent pathways to certificates, degrees, transfer, and careers.”

Mills holds a doctorate in education from Claremont Graduate University, a master’s degree in applied mathematics from the University of California, Riverside and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
