Redlands Area Panhellenic Seeks Scholarship Applicants
The Redlands Area Panhellenic Association is accepting applications for its 2012 Geraldine M. Derkum Panhellenic Scholarship. The scholarships are awarded to college women who have been initiated into and are members in good standing of national Panhellenic sororities.
Scholarships will be awarded in June and in the past have ranged from $500 to $5000.
Applicants must have a permanent residence in Redlandsor the greater Redlands area.
Applications and instructions may be downloaded now from the Scholarship page at www.RedlandsPanhellenic.org, and they are due May 1, 2012.
The scholarships are given in memory of Geraldine M. Derkum, who was a president of Redlands Area Panhellenic and a member of Alpha Chi Omega at the University of California, Los Angeles, in the 1920’s. The first Geraldine M. Derkum Panhellenic Scholarship was presented in 1996. A foundation was formed with the organizational and financial support of Derkum’s husband, Urban Derkum, and Panhellenic officers and members. Redlands Area Panhellenic has given 27 Derkum scholarships since 1996.
