REDLANDS: Families can explore abstract At The San Bernardino County Museum

Family Fun at the County Museum

Families can explore abstract art as they create with color, line, shape and space at the San Bernardino County Museum on Sunday, May 20, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This Family Fun Day, “Art Expressions,” is made possible by a grant from the Community Foundation Serving Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, and is included with paid museum admission.

“All visitors, children and adults, will enjoy activities that have a range of opportunities for personal expression. Multiple projects will allow for hours of creative enjoyment, so come early to take advantage of the most activities,” said Jolene Redvale, the museum’s curator of education. “And be prepared for paint, glue and more ‘messy’ materials!” Visitors can create works of art focusing on pattern and color, using various media including color pencils and watercolor paint. And each visitor can make and take home their very own Sunshine on a Stick art work!

The San Bernardino County Museum is at the California Street exit from Interstate 10 in Redlands. The museum is open Tuesdays through Sundays from 9 am to 5pm. General admission is $8 (adult), $6 (military or senior), $5 (student), and $4 (child aged 5 to 12). Children under five and Museum Association members are admitted free. Parking is free. For more information, visit www.sb countymuseum.org. The museum is accessible to persons with disabilities.
