Beading takes a lot of time and patience, but it is fun, said Museum Educator Nancy Kirkwood. Families can learn more about beads and beading techniques by making a ring or bracelets.
While at the museum, visitors can also enjoy a special exhibit, Turn Turn Turn, social and political movements from 1965 to 1975, through the lens of three exhibits: Scene in the Sun, images from the Sun newspaper collections, Community Chronicles, showcasing meaningful objects, video, and reminiscences of community members during the late 1960s and early 1970s, and Chicano Photographer, photographs by Jesús Manuel Mena Garza.
The San Bernardino County Museum is at the California Street exit from Interstate 10 in Redlands. The museum is open Tuesdays through Sundays and holiday Mondays from 9am to 5pm. Admission is $8 (adult), $6 (military or senior), $5 (student), and $4 (child aged 5 to 12). Children under five and Museum Association members are admitted free.
