Visitors can try their hands at needlework and learn new stitches while making a bookmark to take home. There will be activities suitable for beginners and experienced visitors.
“Stitchery takes time and patience, but visitors will learn how to stitch their own project to take home,” said Carla Rosenkild, museum educator. “We even have fun activities for 5 year-olds.”
While at the museum, visitors will see a special exhibit, “Turn Turn Turn: social movements 1965 to 1975.” This exhibit highlights the social and political upheaval that took place during the time that have greatly influenced our lives today.
The San Bernardino County Museum is at the California Street exit from Interstate 10 in Redlands. The museum is open Tuesdays through Sundays and holiday Mondays from 9am to 5pm. Admission is $8 (adult), $6 (military or senior), $5 (student) and $4 (child aged 5 to 12). Children under five and Museum Association members are admitted free.
