Redlands Pool & Spa to Host 4th Annual Swim Safe Saturday

REDLANDS, Calif.– Redlands Pool & Spa Center will host the 4th annual Swim Safe Saturday on May 2nd, 2015 in recognition of National Water Safety Month in May.

Swim Safe Saturday will be held from 11:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m. and will focus on water fun and safety for all ages. Redlands Pool & Spa will partner with the Redlands YMCA Aquatic Program to help provide financial assistance to families for swim lessons and water safety education.

Free swim lessons at the YMCA will be raffled off throughout the day. Representatives from Redlands YMCA Aquatic Program, Splash Kingdom Water Park, and the Redlands Fire Department will be on-site truck to promote safe water practices. They will be joined by representatives of the manufacturers of pool and spa related safety products, such as Poolsafe Fencing. Games for children, as well as balloons, free hot dogs, popcorn and soda will be provided from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

The month of May has been designated National Water Safety Month in recognition of the popularity of swimming and other aquatic activities in the United States and the need for education on safe water practices. This includes swim lessons, the buddy system, parental supervision, following the posted rules, and always being “water aware.”

Redlands Pool & Spa Center will join other members of APSP (Association of Pool & Spa Professionals), the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), World Waterpark Association (WWA), and the American Red Cross to promote National Water Safety Month during the entire month of May. Redlands Pool & Spa Center and these organizations are committed to bringing safe, enjoyable aquatic activities to the American public, from home pools and spas, to water parks and resorts, to public swimming and water recreation facilities.

Across the U.S., National Water Safety Month will be celebrated through educational programs, public service announcements, government proclamations, dealer and business promotions, and the distribution of water-safety-themed materials, designed to prevent drowning and water-related illness and injuries.
