Continues to champion Veteran’s protection in Congress
Rep. Howard P. “Buck” McKeon today released the following statement commemorating Veteran’s Day:
“Our veterans who serve in the U.S. Armed Forces deserve the greatest honor and respect. On this day we pause as a country to pay thanks to those who have bravely answered our nation’s call to duty, and to reflect on their selfless service and sacrifice.
“As Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, I have the opportunity to see firsthand the challenges that our veterans endure each and every day. I am proud that we have passed over 13 bills in the 112th Congress that directly help Veterans. We still have work to be done to ensure that our Veterans receive the utmost protection, respect, and assistance.
“As with my letter this month to the GAO requesting an explanation for the delay in benefit processing and difficulty scheduling healthcare appointments, I will continue to make Veteran protection a top priority both in Washington, D.C. and at home.
“All of our veterans—whether active duty, discharged, reserve, or retired—have put their lives on the line to defend our freedoms. Today, I extend my unwavering gratitude for their lifetime of heroic sacrifice.”
